Man United News: Real Madrid request can end Manchester United's pursuit for €65 million rated target

Man United News: Real Madrid’s request to Benfica over Manchester United’s target Ruben Dias can thwart their chances to hire him.

Manchester United are aiming to hire the services of €65 million rated Benfica defender to bolster their defense this summer. However, Real Madrid might cause a trouble to the Red Devils, with their request to Benfica.

According to a report by the AS, Real Madrid have requested Benfica to add a first-refusal clause for Ruben Dias during the negotiations for Real Madrid striker Raul de Tomas.

Hence, causing trouble to Manchester United, who are set to hire his services this summer, as Ole Solskjaer wants to bolster his underwhelming defense line.

But, if Benfica agree to insert this condition made by Real Madrid, then the English giants will miss out on the Portuguese defender this summer.

Further, Manchester United are losing its prime targets at this position, thus, if the Red Devils lose this target, they will find it difficult to strengthen their squad as they planned.

Real Madrid are trying to enforce this clause in the Raul deal with Benfica because Los Blancos are eyeing to acquire the 22-year-old player wants in the future.

Dias was a crucial member in the Portuguese squad, which won the UEFA Nations league this summer, and has aroused interests of several clubs including Italian Champions Juventus.

The 22-year-old player is under a contract with Benfica till 2023. However, it is still unknown whether the Portuguese giants will agree the proposal by Real Madrid or not.

If Benfica agree this deal, it will be interesting to know, what Real Madrid have to offer in return, as it will give partial control over the further negotiations regarding the player to Los Blancos.
