Manchester United’s star midfielder Paul Pogba has said that he wants Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to stay beyond this season at the club.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been key to Manchester United’s revival this season.

The club had a negative goal difference and was 11 points behind the fourth-placed Chelsea when Solskjaer took over. Today, Manchester United are not only ahead of the Blues, but also have a better goal difference than Sarri’s side.

The side produced a remarkable performance in the round-of-16 of the Champions League, where they overturned a 2-0 deficit in the first leg to defeat PSG.

Justifiably, the fans and pundits alike are calling for Solskjaer to be appointed as the permanent manager of the side. And club’s star midfielder Paul Pogba has now joined the list.

Paul Pogba on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer:

The French midfielder has had a fall-out in the relationship with former manager Jose Mourinho, which led to a downfall of the Portuguese manager at the club.

However, Solskjaer’s familiarity with the side and his past work-experience with Pogba came in handy for the Norwegian as well as the midfielder, as the two gelled up almost instantly.

Paul Pogba has been brilliant for Manchester United ever since Solskjaer’s arrival, and has now stated that he wants the Norwegian to stay at the club.

“Of course we want him to stay,” Paul Pogba said in a conversation with Sky Sports during the international break.

“The results have been great. I have a great relationship with him, he has a great relationship with the players.”

The midfielder stressed that the players are “happy” under the Solskjaer, and that they are enjoying the freedom which was missing under Mourinho.

“When a player is happy, he wants to keep being happy. Solskjaer deserves it. He knows the club, he knows everything about the club.

“He is a really happy coach that gave confidence back to the players.

“This gave us the freedom to play and enjoy football again because maybe we lost that with the results that we had before.”
