Man Utd News: When are Manchester United’s 9 injured players expected to return? Their return would bode well for the struggling side.
After Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s appointment as the permanent manager of the club, Manchester United were expected to soar once again. However, the club stumbled and somehow managed to finish 6th last season. Much more was expected in this campaign.

United invested in bringing new players to strengthen their side and while they have certainly helped the Red Devils, the overall performance from the club has been very disappointing. Constant injury woes haven’t helped their cause either.
Supporters will hope that the return of these players will help the club improve. Here is the latest news on the 9 players sidelined with injury and when can they be expected to return at the earliest.
Victor Lindelof
Swedish footballer Victor Lindelof is the latest addition to the injured list. The centre back is a key member of Soslkjaer’s side. However, he is out having played against Bournemouth despite having a sustained back problem against Chelsea 3 days prior.
Soslkjaer has since confirmed the Lindelof will miss the Europa League match against Partizan. However, he could heal up real fast and even feature for Manchester United this weekend for their Premier League match against Brighton.
When will he return?
November 10
Eric Bailly
Eric Bailly joined Manchester United in 2016 and while he started brilliantly for the Red Devils, his career has since been constantly plagued with injuries. The Ivorian’s campaign was put on hold before it even started after suffering a knee injury against Tottenham in China.
Bailly has since been making steady progress on his return from injury. The Centre back however may not make it to the playing XI immediately and may have to get back to full match fitness with the U-23’s. He may not take the field until next month.

December
Angel Gomes
Manchester United’s academy graduate Angel Gomes has not made an appearance for the Red Devils since October. He last played a Europa league match against AZ Alkmaar. The teenager picked up an injury while representing the U23’s. The nature of his problem however, has not been disclosed.
Fans of the club see him as a bright prospect for the future and so does Manchester United which is exactly why the club handed him a first team debut at 15 years, 11 months and 29 days. However, at the moment there is no word on when he will make his return.

Luke Shaw
Much like Eric Bailly, Shaw’s Manchester United career has been plagued with injuries. The 24-year started the campaign injury free before suffering yet another injury setback. He suffered a hamstring injury during United’s loss to Crystal Palace at the end of August and has been out since.
Luke Shaw spent 4 weeks on the sidelines and returned to train with the team in September. However, he is yet to fully recover from the injury. The left back will be out of the side at least until after the international break, extending his time off to at least 3 months.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah
21-yeard old Timothy Fosu-Mensah is expected to make a return by December. However, with so many players above him in the pecking order, it is unlikely that he will feature for Manchester United any time soon.
The fact that he had a disappointing loan spell at Fulham before sustaining a serious knee injury in March does not help his case either. It is very likely that he will turn out for the U23’s like Eric Bailly instead of the first team.
When will he return?
December
Nemanja Matic
Nemanja Matic has not featured for Manchester United as many times as he would have liked. He still is a good addition to the squad though. With United going through a youth revolution at the moment, someone like Matic could really be a leader in the dressing room.
However, Matic has said that he’s open to leaving the club in order to receive more game time. It is therefore unlikely that Solskjaer will play him often even if he returns. Like Luke Shaw, the Serb will not return until after the International break.

Diogo Dalot
Diogo signed for Manchester United last summer and was seen as the future. However, disappointing performances from him and the entire team defensively has seen him lose his place to new signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the playing XI.
Dalot has been out with an undisclosed injury since United’s loss to Newcastle. Although it is possible that he is out with a hip injury considering he flew to China earlier in the season to treat the said injury. It is currently unknown when he will make a return to the team.

Paul Pogba
Manchester United fought tooth and nail with Real Madrid, Juventus and Pogba’s agent Raioli to keep the midfielder at Old Trafford. Unfortunately, the French World Cup winner has missed much of the campaign with an ankle injury sustained in the 1-1 draw with Southampton at the end of August.
The Red Devils have been bereft of creativity in the middle of the park since his absence and have been carefully noting his progress. United fans can expect their best player to be on the field with the team by next month.
When will he return?
Early December
Axel Tuanzebe
Axel Tuanzebe was expected to start against Liverpool at Old Trafford. However, he was withdrawn from the team just before kickoff and has not featured for the side since. His last appearance for the club was in the beginning of October when he played in United’s defeat by Newcastle at St. James Park.
Like Luke Shaw and Nemanja Matic, the youngster will be out of the team until at least the international break. However, it remains to be seen if he will be given a go in the first team or sent to the U23’s to give him game time.
