Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has now identified two strikers who could be brought to the Old Trafford this month. One of them, according to Metro is Timo Werner, who has a reported release clause of as low as £25.6million and high as £51.2m. The other target, according to Goal Mexico is Wolverhampton striker Raul Jimenez.
Man Utd face challenge from Premier League rivals to land targets
However, they will face stern challenge from Rival Premier League sides in their search for a world class striker. Frank Lampard’s Chelsea are also interested in Werner, while Pep Guardiola led Manchester City, who have suffered twice at the hands of Jiminez, are interested in the Wolves striker.
However, both Chelsea and Manchester City will pursue their targets in the summer. Chelsea understand that prising out Werner in the middle of the season will be an expensive affair. Manchester City are satisfied with Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus at their disposal.
This bodes well for Manchester United, who are looking to add to their arsenal in January itself. However, to convince the players and their clubs, to swap their loyalties in the middle of the season will be a difficult task.
