Man Utd Transfer News: Red Devils are after Norwich City's star midfielder Cantwell

Man Utd Transfer News: Red Devils have started the pursuit for Norwich City’s star midfielder Todd Cantwell to bolster the ranks in midfield.

Manchester United is amidst a squad reform with Ole Solskjaer looking to add quality players to bolster his squad. Moreover, with limited options in midfield, it is the topmost priority for Manchester United.

According to a report by the Daily Mail, Manchester United is after Todd Cantwell who has gained prominence in the Premier League after showing his goal-scoring proficiency while playing for Norwich City.

The £30million-rated attacking midfielder’s tally is only topped among Daniel Farke’s Norwich squad by their nine-goal leading scorer, Finland international Teemu Pukki.

With Paul Pogba on the verge of packing his bags away from the Old Trafford by the next summer transfer window, Manchester United need some worthy replacements and Cantwell do seems like a viable option but obviously is not at par with Pogba.

The Red Devils were after several other options and Bruno Fernandes was the favourite among all, but with Cantwell’s emergence, Fernandes might go down in the priority list because of his age, price and he is a home born talent.

Meanwhile, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are also after the English midfielder after seeing his performances this season. Manchester City needs a replacement for David Silva, although Phil Foden is there but Cantwell also has lucrative attacking traits.

Whereas Cantwell can be a viable option for Spurs’ as he has many attributes which Jose Mourinho likes to have in his players, but he would be having a straight competition with Heung-Min Son and Dele Alli.

Thus, Manchester United seems like a favourable destination considering the chances of getting an ample amount of playing time and a fruitful contract at disposal.
