Man Utd Transfer News: Red Devils plan to launch £50 million bid for Bruno Fernandes

Manchester United are preparing to lodge a bid worth £50 million for Bruno Fernandes.

Manchester United are preparing to submit a bid worth £50 million for Sporting CP midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

The Portuguese international, who was part of the Nations League triumph, has been wanted by the Red Devils. He has expressed his desire to carefully chose the next project because of the much-needed career progression.

According to Independent, Sporting CP will receive a bid for Bruno Fernandes from Manchester United in the upcoming days. The Red Devils are mooted to sign a proper central midfielder and view the 24-year-old as an ideal candidate to fill the loophole left by Ander Herrera.

In the past month, the Portuguese club have turned down bids from the English side, as they plan to keep him post-summer. But, with several clubs queuing up for his signature, the midfielder could find his new club in the future.

The feeling surrounding Old Trafford is that they would be able to lure him to Manchester. But, £50 million will not prove an ideal amount for the midfielder, as Sporting value him at £65 million. The Portuguese club are not ready to budge because of their financial issues currently.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is running for his services, irrespective of Paul Pogba’s future. There is also huge confidence that this deal can be completed, owing down to the lack of suitors for the midfielder. But, there is no doubt about his quality as other sides have not been able to guarantee the preferred spot for the 24-year-old.

On the other hand, Fernandes is also holding his desire of moving to a big club this summer. The Portuguese will try to speak with his current club if a suitable offer is placed on the table.

The Red Devils are also interested in Sean Longstaff, but there is a huge fee variance between these two clubs. The Magpies want at least £50 million for their academy youngster.

Here’s how Twitter has reacted..

What’s next?

Should Manchester United acquire his services, the Red Devils will have a dominant midfield of Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba, and Bruno Fernandes. The coming days will determine whether Solskjaer would be able to sign him.
