Man Utd Transfer News: Solskjaer urges United to bring in Ivan Rakitic as Pogba’s replacement according to a report from a Spanish publication.
Paul Pogba is still a Manchester United Player. The question is, for how long more?
According to Spanish publication Sport, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has asked United Bosses to bring Ivan Rakitic in as a replacement for wantaway star Paul Pogba who has flirted a little too openly with the idea of leaving Old Trafford.

This has caused Solskjaer uneasiness and he has begun looking for emergency replacements. They are now looking to bring in an Elite midfielder. The Norwegian believes that the Croatian would be a perfect fit at the Theatre of Dreams.
United bid, Barca want more
United had previously aimed to bring in Rakitic and defender Umtiti and had even contacted Barcelona about it. While the Catalonian Club had shown its willingness to negotiate, United made no further effort to communicate with them.
That was until yesterday, when United resumed talks, but this time they are only in for Rakitic. United have reportedly offered 35 million Euros for the transfer. Barcelona have rejected the bid. The Blaugrana are looking for no less than 50 million.
Paul Pogba has courted the interests of two European giants. Juventus and Real Madrid. While Juventus remains a familiar place for Pogba, a place where he became the footballer he is today, he has vehemently expressed his desire to play under compatriot Zinedine Zidane.
Neither club has presented an official bid yet. United’s stance at the moment is that Pogba is not for sale. But with Pogba trying to force a move away from Manchester, it will be very hard to keep him hostage once a formal bid is presented.
It is in keeping with this that Solskjaer has chosen to be careful and proactive. Apart from Rakitic, United are also aiming to bring in Sporting Lisbon’s Bruno Fernandes and Newcastle United’s Sean Longstaff to bolster their midfield.
