Man Utd vs Man City lineups: Manchester United predicted line up vs Man City

Manchester United will take on Manchester City in a vital Premier League clash on Wednesday. We take a look at the Manchester United predicted line up vs Man City.

Solskjaer was seemingly at a loss of words after his side took a 4-0 humiliation at Goodison Park to Everton.

Manchester United registered its first shot on target in the 85th minute of the game, which simply sums up their performance. However, the Reds need little motivation for their upcoming home game.

The side hosts bitter rivals Manchester City on Wednesday night, and have another chance at strengthening their position in the top-4 battle. Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea have all dropped points in the last week’s fixtures – and so, all’s still not lost for the Old Trafford outfit.

As Manchester United prepares for the high-voltage clash at Old Trafford, we take a look at the Manchester United predicted line up.

Manchester United predicted line up vs Man City:

Goalkeeper: David De Gea

The Manchester United goalkeeper had an evening to forget – just like every other Manchester United player at Goodison Park on Sunday. He would aim to make amends, as Solskjaer would expect him to step up against Manchester City.

De Gea has been one of the key players in the side this season, even when he didn’t perform at his best.

Defenders: Young, Lindelof, Smalling, Shaw

Diogo Dalot’s poor form, combined with the return of Luke Shaw, could allow Ashley Young a way back into the starting XI for the game. The Manchester United veteran has been criticized for his below-par performances of late, but the alternatives haven’t been inspiring either.

Victor Lindelof remains one of the rare delights in the Manchester United backline, and is expected to return to the centre-back role for the game.

Midfield: McTominay, Fred, Pogba

Scott McTominay has stepped up for Manchester United under Solskjaer. Even when he put on a poor display against Everton, the manager is likely to keep his faith on the Scottish youngster.

Nemanja Matic returned to the side after spending significant time on sidelines due to injury. However, his slow came came to haunt the side as Manchester United failed to create chances from the midfield. Fred seems to be the best choice to replace the Serb, as Ander Herrera faces a late fitness test.

A huge onus will be on Paul Pogba again, who showed glimpses of his quality against Everton, but has largely been inconsistent over the past few weeks.

Forward: Alexis, Lukaku, Rashford

Alexis Sanchez could make a comeback in the game after a series of disappointing displays from Anthony Martial. The Chilean impressed the fans with his outing against Barcelona at Camp Nou, but didn’t make an appearance against Everton.

Lukaku needs to play more centrally to be at the receiving end of the crosses, while Rashford would aim to take his chances.

Both the players need to step up their game after the howlers against Everton as Manchester United eyes Champions League qualification for the next season.

Man Utd predicted line up vs Manchester City:

De Gea; Young, Smalling, Lindelof, Shaw; McTominay, Fred, Pogba; Alexis, Lukaku, Rashford
