Dani Alves’ last minute snub seems to have really irked Pep Guardiola and the Manchester City top brass.

Alves was widely expected to join City after he left Juventus at the end of last season. The legendary Brazilian full back was superb for the Old Lady last season, as they had an impressive run to the Champions league final.

But Alves stunned the world and joined PSG instead. At his official unveiling, Alves commented on how he was very close to joining Manchester City.

“Yes, we have spoken.”

“Well, actually, it was me who did most of the talking. I explained the reasons behind my decision to him.”

“After everything we have done together, we have a very cordial relationship, respectful. It is this respect that may mean these things can be understood. Right now, I do not know if he understands my choice.”

“I had other options — here but also in England. Ultimately, it was me who took the decision.”

Now City have quickly turned their attention to Tottenham full back Kyle Walker. Walker has been an integral part of this Spurs side and was keen on moving to another club this summer.

And it looks like City have got their man as reports suggest that Walker will move to the Etihad for an astonishing 50 million pounds. This would make Walker the most expensive defender in history.

Talk about moving on!
