Manchester Derby: Jamie Carragher posts hilarious Manchester United picture ahead of title defining clash

Jamie Carragher posts hilarious Manchester United ahead of the title defining clash at Old Trafford.

Manchester United will play Manchester City at Old Trafford on Wednesday night. There will be plenty of watchers for this game as Liverpool’s title hopes rely on the opponents of the Citizens.

It will be painful for Manchester United fans to pick between their two fierce rivals Manchester City and Liverpool. Those two clubs lead the way in the Premier League by a huge margin, but it is Liverpool who need a favour from Manchester United on Wednesday.

Liverpool hero Jamie Carragher once wore Manchester United shirt in Sky Sports studio. With the clock ticking down for Manchester Derby, the Kopite legend posted a photo of him on Instagram wearing the Red Devils shirt. The caption read as follows, “For one night only!”

Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville are expected to fare as pundits in Sky Sports as they usually do. Neville will surely vow something from Jamie if Manchester United come out on top. That will help Liverpool cement the top spot in the Premier League.

A win will not only do good for Liverpool, but reclaim the confidence for the Red Devils players who are chasing for a spot in the top four. With plenty of contract conundrum currently, the Red Devils will not be able to keep their star players without Champions League football next season. Not only does it affect the squad, but the incoming transfers would also backfire.

Solskjaer has said that the club will be aiming to finish in the place which would help them acquire Champions League football regardless of the title winner. After getting humiliated by Everton, midfielder Paul Pogba has promised to bounce back against Manchester City with a good display.

Liverpool are two points ahead of Manchester City who have played a game lesser than Jurgen Klopp’s side. With this being the game in hand for Pep Guardiola’s side, they will be keen to secure all three points to retain their title. The next few fixtures are also not cakewalks for Manchester City as they play Burnley at Turf Moor before taking on Leicester City at the Etihad and Brighton at Amex Stadium.

On the other hand, Liverpool will be inviting Huddersfield Town this Friday, and the next two games will against Newcastle United at St. James Park and Wolverhampton Wanderers in front of their home fans. It will be dramatic title race and the fans expect this to go down to the wire.
