Manchester United and Liverpool players have been ranked from ‘World Class’ to ‘Terrible’. Unsurprisingly United have not fared very well.
A decade ago, Manchester United were on top of the world. They were the Premier League champions in the 2008/09 season and Liverpool had punched above their weight to come 2nd. It seemed that no matter what Liverpool tried they would always find themselves behind United.

Cut to today and Liverpool are favorites to win the Premier League while Manchester United languish at 12th position. Liverpool are the current European Champions while United are struggling to even qualify for Europa.

However, despite seeming like a one-sided clash, the face-off between England’s two most successful sides is a must watch match. Ahead of the affair, Sportbible have ranked the players on both sides between tiers ranging from World Class to Terrible.
Manchester United and Liverpool players have been ranked from ‘World Class’ to ‘Terrible’
The World Class tier is dominated by Liverpool with Virgil Van Dijk, Alisson and Sadio Mane. The only representative from Manchester United is World Cup winner Paul Pogba. United have a much greater representation in the tier below.
The Great tier features new United recruits Aaron Wan Bissaka and Harry Maguire. Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea also finds a place in the Great tier. Liverpool defenders, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson also make the list.
Liverpool midfielders James Milner and Georginio Wijnaldum are also on the Great list while Mohammed Salah also surprisingly is placed at the 2nd tier instead of being at the top. Further down is the Okay tier which features the likes of Joel Matip, Scott McTominay, Daniel James, Victor Lindelof and Jordan Henderson.
Liverpool and Manchester United strikers Roberto Firmino and Anthony Martial are the only entrants in the Overrated tier. This is a very surprising choice considering all the talk about Firmino being underrated in the summer.
Embarrassingly for Manchester United, the entirety of the Terrible category features their players. The list comprises of Jesse Lingard, Nemnaja Matic, Ashley Young, Andreas Pereira, Marcus Rashford and Fred.
World Class: Virgil van Dijk, Paul Pogba, Alisson and Sadio Mane
Great: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andy Robertson, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire, Mohamed Salah, Georginio Wijnaldum, James Milner and David de Gea
Okay: Joel Matip, Scott McTominay, Daniel James, Victor Lindelof, Jordan Henderson, Luke Shaw, Fabinho and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Overrated: Roberto Firmino and Anthony Martial
Terrible: Jesse Lingard, Fred, Nemanja Matic, Marcus Rashford, Ashley Young and Andreas Pereira
