Manchester United given chance to sign Robert Lewandowski

Manchester United have made two very shrewd signings this transfer window, getting their hands on a young right back in Diogo Dalot and a crafty yet solid midfielder in Fred.

Both these accusations are in line with what Manchester United need and hence the team setup looks a little stronger than what it was last season.

A winger and a centre back would be on Jose Mourinho’s mind as of now, as he desperately needs to plug those two positions in order to compete for the Premier League and the Champions League next season.

However, whilst all this is on Mourinho’s list for the summer, he has just been handed a boost in order to sign world class striker Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich.

Romelu Lukaku has been brilliant for Manchester United until now but who wouldn’t want to listen to an offer about the Polish striker.

Reports in the Bild claim that Bayern Munich have offered the striker to Manchester United but United will have to pay up at least £175m to secure his services.

The striker is in demand this transfer window as he has reportedly informed the Bayern Muncih management that he is looking to move in search of a new challenge.

Lewandowski has had a good few years in the Bundesliga, first with Dortmund and then with Bayern, but fancies a move to the Premier League to further prove his worth as a world class striker.

Will Jose jump?

Mourinho has singled out Lukaku as his prime forward but with Lewandowski on the market, Mourinho could play a little with his strike combination.

If United indeed go in for Lewandowski, it will be interesting too see how Mourinho manages Lukaku.
