The talks between Verratti and Paris Saint Germain didn’t go well, as reported by Calciomercato.
Mino Raiola has offered his client Marco Verratti to Manchester United after the player’s meeting with PSG boss Thomas Tuchel didn’t go as per the expectations of the Italian.
Calciomercato reports that Verratti met newly-appointed PSG manager Thomas Tuchel to discuss his plans for the future. Tuchel replaced Unai Emery at the helm of PSG, after the Spaniard had a disappointing Champions League campaign with the French club.
It is reported that Tuchel asked Verratti to lose weight and gain fitness before the season starts in August. Tuchel is known to be quite strict in terms of fitness regime of his players.
Verratti was also asked to improve his overall fitness levels if he wanted to play for Paris Saint Germain.
The Italian outlet has claimed that Mino Raiola worked quickly on identifying potential moves for the playmaker, who is currently among the best in business. Raiola offered Verratti to four big clubs in Europe.
Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus and Manchester United were approached by Raiola. While Barcelona outrightly denied making a bid for the midfielder, Real Madrid and Juventus conceded, saying that they weren’t in a pole position to make a bid, according to the report.
However, Calciomercato has stated that Jose Mourinho is considering making a bid for the Italian star.
Mino Raiola has earlier worked with Manchester United on pulling through deals for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku during Jose Mourinho’s helm at the club.
Manchester United has already completed the signing of Brazilian midfielder Fred earlier this week. United also later announced Portugal’s defender Diogo Dalot as their second buy of the season.
Apart from considering a bid for Marco Verratti, Manchester United are also monitoring Bayern Munich’s Jerome Boateng.
