Manchester United team news vs Juventus

TheSportsRush brings Manchester United team news vs Juventus, as Mourinho aims to bring the side’s campaign back on track.

Manchester United held Chelsea to a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Jose Mourinho’s side put on a heroic performance against the Blues, and were on the verge of securing three points when Ross Barkley scored in the final minute of the match to bring the score at level.

United endured a poor start to the campaign and are currently 9th in the league with only 14 points from 9 matches. The club has been in the headlines for controversies throughout the season.

However, the recent few weeks has been largely positive for the side. Before the match against Chelsea, Manchester United made a dramatic comeback in the second half to beat Newcastle United 3-2 at Old Trafford.

As United makes a return to the ‘Theatre of Dreams’, they will host the Italian champions and European giants, Juventus. Jose Mourinho has provided a team update before the game.

Manchester United team news vs Juventus:

Jose Mourinho interacted with the media before the game against Juventus. He dismissed the speculations linking him with the Real Madrid job, and provided the team update for the match.

Mourinho said that Alexis Sanchez will not be available for the match. However, no reason was given for his absence.

“The players you saw are the players that are available,” said Mourinho. “[We have] Nothing to hide and Alexis is out.”

Mourinho also provided an update on Antonio Valencia.

“The reason was he was 10 days without problem due to a problem he had, very complicated surgery on his mouth. He needed a little bit of time to recover,” said Mourinho.

Apart from the two players, Scott McTominay, Diogo Dalot, Phil Jones, Marouane Fellaini and Jesse Lingard might be the other notable absentees, as all the five were missing from the training session earlier today.

What next?

Juventus also received a huge setback before the game as it was confirmed that Mario Mandzukic will miss the clash at Old Trafford with an ankle injury.

Meanwhile, the Old Trafford crowd gears up to welcome former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese star played six seasons at the club before joining Real Madrid for the-then world record transfer fee.
