Manchester United Transfer News: Premier League giants focus on hiring Inter Milan star defender Diego Godin to bolster the defence.
Manchester United is slowly rising towards the higher strata of the Premier League but they still need to make upgrades to challenge Manchester City and Liverpool in quality.
Therefore, according to Corriere dello Sport, Manchester United is ready to make an offer for Diego Godin after they learnt that Antonio Conte doesn’t view him in future plans.
This will be not for the first time when Manchester United would be attempting a move on him, with Jose Mourinho attempting to sign him when he was in charge.
Later, even Ole Solsjkaer was interested in him while Uruguayan International’s contract with Atletico Madrid was coming to an end. However, he opted to go to Inter Milan.
Solskjaer is looking forward to adding experience in Manchester United’s defence, with Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof seeming to be only reliable options.
Therefore, Godin would be a crucial inclusion in Manchester United’s defence, if he agrees for a move. Godin’s contract might not be up for another year but Inter Milan are unlikely to ask for too much money.
Moreover, previous experiences between both clubs would account for smooth negotiations. The Red Devils have also been linked with Kalidou Koulibaly, amongst other high profile defenders, but the Napoli man is more likely to cost in the £100 million region.
So, it would be better for Manchester United to have Godin, who is reliable and offer same kind of quality with a much lower price. Now it remains to be seen will a deal be made or not.
