Manchester United transfer news: Red Devils are in talks with Real Betis over the transfer negotiations for 22-year-old Spanish defender.
Manchester United are seeking for various reinforcements in the squad after facing an underwhelming season in their last campaign by finishing sixth in the Premier league.
Thus, Ole Solskjaer has already revealed his intentions of bringing new players at the club in order to bolster his squad for the upcoming campaign.
The Red Devils have struggled at defense and need immediate improvements. Thus, according to Sun, Manchester United have decided to get in talks with Real Betis for the 22-year-old left back Junior Firpo.
Luke Shaw has been decent this season but still haven’t stood up to his expectations. Therefore, Junior Firpo can be a decent addition to the team as he has been a reliable option for Real Betis at back.
Although, the Spanish defender is still highly inexperienced as he has appeared in only 24 matches in La Liga throughout his brief career.
It is further reported that Manchester United are willing to pay around £26.4 million for the young defender. Considering Firpo has a contract with Los Verdiblancos until 2023, the amount of fee being offered could turn out to be a bargain if the 22-year-old player flourishes in Manchester United.
Although, Real Madrid are also linked with Firpo and Ole Solskjaer has to battle against the brand power of Real Madrid to hire his services.
Nevertheless, on the positive side, negotiations between Manchester United and Real Madrid are still underway but the binding decision is still unknown.
