Gazzetta dello Sport, have reported that Manchester United have contacted Juventus over a possible move. The Argentine was seen as surplus to requirements by many following Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer from Real Madrid last season. That coupled with the disappointing season the 25-year-old had last season lent weight to the expectations that the forward could be shifted out of Turin this season.
The Italian reports suggest that Juventus are open to the transfer. So long as they receive a gargantuan fee of 80 million euros. However, Dybala himself is not willing to leave the Italian Champions.
Not so easy bringing in Dybala
Paulo Dybala is excited for the upcoming season under Maurizio Sarri. The former Chelsea manager is thinking of using the Argentine as a false 9 this season; a prospect that has thrilled the youngster.
Another factor working against United is their lack of Champions League football. The Old Trafford club failed to qualify for Europe’s elite competition after they ended at 6th position in the EPL last season. They will now play the Europa league; not the most enticing offer for a youngster hoping to announce himself on the big stage.
The entire transfer is also based around the faith that Inter will manage to bring in the funds required to bring in Romelu Lukaku. Which as it is, is standing on an even thinner ice.
However, if United do manage to bring in Dybala, this could pay off hugely for them. With no Ronaldo or Messi in the team, the young Argentine could have the freedom he so needs in the field to deliver on the potential and promise he has clearly shown.
