Manchester United Transfer News: United set to bid Sporting Lisbon Star Bruno Fernandes to bring the Portuguese to Old Trafford.
Manchester United have previously spoken of their desire to bring in new players in the ongoing transfer season. They have already secured the signatures of Daniel James from Swansea City and are closing in on Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace, pending a medical.

However, United are far from done as they’re looking to overhaul their midfield, following Ander Herrera’s departure on a free. To that end, they have set their sights on Bruno Fernandes, Sean Longstaff, Saul Niguez and Youri Tielemans with the expectation that at least one new midfielder will arrive before the start of the season.
Bruno Fernandes and Sean Longstaff
ESPN have reported that there have been informal meetings with Fernandes’ agent Miguel Pinho in London. Although their talks covered a range of topics. The Sporting Lisbon star was previously linked with Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham. However, all 3 EPL teams have distanced themselves from the star midfielder paving an easy path for Manchester United.

United also believe that they can secure Sean Longstaff from Newcastle and have therefore delayed an official bid so far. Longstaff fits the mould of young British players that Solskjaer wants to inject his team with.
The 21 year is considered one for the future and is expected to be the long-term successor to Michael Carrick. Therefore, a move for the youngster should be expected soon. So far, the only Top flight club interested in Longstaff is United and they expect to bring him in for £25m.

While Longstaff is seen as a player for the future, Solskjaer is aware of the immediate impact he needs in his midfield and that’s where the free scoring Bruno Fernandes comes in. One can expect offers for both these players sent out soon in the coming days.
