Paul Pogba shined for France at the World Cup, and his performances have clearly impacted on his transfer value.
Paul Pogba played a massive role as France sealed a second World Cup crown, twenty years after their first one. The 25 year old was instrumental throughout the tournament, also bagging a left footed stunner in the final against Croatia in a 4-2 win.
The France international came into the World Cup at the back of a season full of ups and downs. United did not win any trophy and rumour also had it that Pogba and Mourinho had fallen out. Following the Frenchman’s stunning performances in Russia, It is reported that Lionel Messi wants Barcelona to buy him.
The news comes from several sources although no concrete deal has been made. It looks to be seen whether Barcelona will be ready to pay such a heavy price for the 25 year old star even though they are in need of a midfielder following the departure of Andres Iniesta.
The former Juventus midfielder who joined United back in 2016 has not been able to showcase his play-making abilities on several occasions. However, with his country and when Jose Mourinho has deployed him as a free roaming midfielder, Paul Pogba has wreaked havoc and can do the same at Barcelona.
Manchester United have now set a price tag worth €150 million on Paul Pogba over whom Barcelona are circling. While there is no public interest from the Spanish club’s side, Pogba will be a great addition to their squad.
However, United may be reluctant in letting him go as he has the potential of becoming one of the world’s best midfielders very soon if played in his preferred position.
Manchester United, meanwhile, have completed three signings so far. FC Barcelona, on the other hand, signed Arthur Melo from Gremio and Clement Lenglet from Sevilla in this transfer window.
