Here is how Twitter reacted as Manchester United take on Barcelona in the Champions League Quarterfinals.
The road to Madrid is not very far as the draw for the Champions League Quarterfinals have been completed. Manchester United will take on Barcelona in the first leg on April 9/10 followed at Nou Camp by the second leg at Old Trafford on April 16th or 17th.
The Red Devils were put in a tricky group which consisted of Juventus, Valencia, and Young Boys. The club finished second in the group table with three wins, one draw, and two defeats.
The English outfit traveled to Switzerland on Matchday one to take on Young Boys. A brace from Paul Pogba and a second-half strike from Anthony Martial was enough to seal the victory for the former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho. In the second game of the group, they faced Valencia at Old Trafford which ended in a stalemate.
Juventus were the second team to visit Old Trafford and a first-half goal from Paulo Dybala was enough to secure a victory. Two weeks later, the Red Devils were the victors in Allianz Stadium as the late strike from Juan Mata and an own goal from Leonardo Bonucci sealed the victory for the English outfit.
That victory in Turin was followed by a narrow 1-0 win over Young Boys in front of the home support. Regardless of the result against Valencia, Manchester United were allocated a place in the Round of 16.
When they were flying high in the domestic competitions, Paris Saint Germain became the first team to dent the Red Devils chances of qualifying for the next round. Thomas Tuchel executed his game plan to perfection and won the game 2-0 at Old Trafford.
Despite the injuries, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believed that his side would be able to overcome that massive hurdle. A first-half brace from Romelu Lukaku and a stoppage time spot-kick from Marcus Rashford sealed a place in the last eight.
Now, with Manchester United taking Barcelona, it will be interesting to witness this particular clash.
Barcelona were easing through teams despite having the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Inter Milan, and PSV in their group. They were able to progress with a 5-1 victory over Lyon in the second leg at Nou Camp.
On the other hand, Liverpool have already made a statement by progressing to the knockout stages of the competitions despite have Paris Saint Germain and Napoli in their group. They beat Bayern Munich 3-1 at Allianz Arena following a stalemate at Anfield.
Juventus made a remarkable comeback against Atletico Madrid are currently one of the favorites in the tie. The Italian outfit overturned the 2-0 lead at Allianz Stadium and won the tie 3-0, courtesy to a hat-trick from Cristiano Ronaldo.
Tottenham Hotspur were also involved in a group, but they scrambled out of it to face Borussia Dortmund in the next round. They beat in both the legs to advance to this stage.
Ajax made one of the most remarkable comebacks with a 4-1 victory at Santiago Bernabeu. The Dutch outfit were unfortunate to lose their first leg 2-1, but their players were fearless in their approach which helped them the course.
Manchester City have been simply rampant in front of the goal and they scored ten past Schalke in the Round of 16 to advance to this stage. Porto, on the other hand, were able to edge Roma to qualify for the Quarterfinals.
Ajax will take on Juventus in the other clash, followed by Liverpool against Porto. The other game will see two English heavyweights – Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur in an all English affair.
