German goal keeper Marc Ter Stegen has quietly established himself as the numero uno between the sticks at the Nou Camp.

In his debut season, Ter Stegen had to share time with Claudio Bravo at Barcelona, as the German was the first choice for the cup competitions, while Bravo was the preferred keeper for La Liga.

After Bravo departed for Manchester City last summer, Ter Stegen finally became the undisputed starter at Barcelona, and quickly established himself as one of the best keepers in the world.

In spite of rave reviews about his performances at the Nou Camp, Ter Stegen is open to be switching clubs in the summer, as the German is willing to try another league. Having already played in Bundesliga, Ter Stegen will no doubt be eyeing a move to England in the near future.

And now we hear that Arsenal is quite keen on signing the German as a replacement for Petr Cech. Cech has been on the decline for some time now, as the legendary keeper has surely lost the brilliance that made him one of the greatest keepers on his generation.

The Czech international has himself accepted blame on more than one occasion, something that rarely happened a few years ago.

Barcelona are springing into action though, as they are lining up AC Milan’s Gigio Donnarumma as a possible replacement for Ter Stegen.

The Italian is one of the most sought after young players in the world, and is the heir to the great Gigi Buffon.

While there are been a lot of talk about Donnarumma looking to move away from Milan, the Italian has always said that he loves the club, and will only leave if he does not feel he has a future at the club.

Then again, if Barcelona come calling then his head could turn again!
