Marcus Rashford Injury: Will Rashford play tonight in Liverpool vs Manchester United?

Marcus Rashford Injury: Will Rashford play tonight in Liverpool vs Manchester United? The forward was seen limping off during the FA Cup replay.

Marcus Rashford has been the silver lining in what has been an average season for Manchester United. However, the forward, who has scored 14 goals in the Premier League this season, succumbed to a back injury during the FA Cup replay against Wolverhampton earlier this week.

Manchester United will want Marcus Rashford to be available for the match against Liverpool if they are to have any chance. However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was pessimistic about the possibility of fielding the forward at Anfield against the runaway league leaders.

Marcus Rashford unlikely to recover from injury

“I can’t tell you now [whether he’ll be ready],” Solskjaer said in a presser ahead of the match on Friday. “As I said with Harry [Maguire] a few weeks ago, of course we’re going to give him the absolute amount of time to find out.

“We’ll do some more checks and treatment with him today. Yesterday was a recovery day. I’m not going to hold my breath.

“I would probably think he wouldn’t be ready but let’s see. 48 hours, so let’s see.”

It appears that the 22-year old has failed to recover. According to The Mirror as he wasn’t seen with the United Squad that had arrived at the Lowry hotel in Manchester, where they stayed on Saturday night prior to the box office fixture against Liverpool on Sunday.

His absence is perhaps an indication of his omission from the side that will take the field later tonight. This will be a huge blow for United who are the only side who managed to avoid a loss against Liverpool courtesy of a goal from Rashford.
