Marcus Rashford: Man Utd star set to sign 300,000-a-week deal to stay with Red Devils

Marcus Rashford will sign a four-year contract worth 300,000-a-week, committing his future to the Red Devils.

Marcus Rashford will sign a four-year contract worth 300,000-a-week with Manchester United, thereby committing his future with the Red Devils.

The 21-year-old was turning down previous contracts, forcing board hands to place a lucrative deal on the table. With the renewed contract, the English International will become the club’s third-highest earner after Alexis Sanchez and Paul Pogba.

According to the Telegraph, Marcus Rashford will put pen to paper as early as Monday. The 21-year-old has agreed to a new four-year contract, that will see him deal fixed with the Red Devils until 2023, with an automatic option to extend it for a year.

The contract is heavily dependent on performance-related targets. If Rashford manages all, he would earn as high as 300k a week. Albeit being linked with Barcelona, Solskjaer sees him as an integral part of the side.

United wanted to confirm the deal before jetting off to Australia for the pre-season tour. But, it is likely to be announced today without no hassle for the Red Devils faithful.

Romelu Lukaku, who cost 75 million in 2017, has been warming the bench in favour of Rashford. The Belgian International looks increasingly likely to head into the exit door. Reports popped up that Sevilla’s Ben Yedder, who famously scored twice in the Champions League Round of 16 last season at Old Trafford, is eyed as understudy to Rashford.

Solskjaer and Mike Phelan were concerned that the player’s fitness was not good enough for enthralling attacking football. To usher the side, the Norwegian has signed two young players in Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Rashford will pair up with his teammates this week. Whereas, new signing Wan-Bissaka will join the group during the Downunder tour. United are expected to step up their pursuit for Bruno Fernandes and Sean Longstaff, whereas Solskjaer will hold a one-v-one session with Paul Pogba to discuss his future.

This will come as a huge piece of news for Manchester United fans who were sweating on his future. Despite his intention to commit his future, the contract of David De Gea remains unresolved.
