Marcus Rashford produces miss of the season minutes after scoring a banger vs Brighton at Old Trafford in the Premier League.

Manchester United have turned the screws on Brighton to produce an exceptional performance at Old Trafford. At the moment of writing, The Red Devils lead 3-1 with 15 minutes left in the match. There was a moment of worry when the visitors scored in the 64th minute. However, the comeback was short-lived as Rashford scored a couple of minutes later to put the pressure back on Brighton.

Brighton found their defenders vanish in thin air as Fred found Anthony Martial who combined with Marcus Rashford to nullify Lewis Dunk’s header. However, just 4 minutes after scoring an excellent goal, Rashford managed to miss an absolute sitter.

Daniel James tore through Brighton’s backline with his trademark sprint before passing the ball to Rashford. All the England international had to do now, was touch the ball and push it inside the virtually empty net.

However, Rashford made an absolute miss of the chance and kicked the ball wide at the back post. You can’t make this stuff up. Just 4 minutes before he had helped United consolidate their position through a tough chance and now, he stared at surprise after missing an absolute sitter.

United opened their account in the 17th minute of the match when Pereira thrashed home a deflection into the goal. They then doubled their score a couple of minutes later when Fred’s freekick resulted in a Davy Propper own goal.

This is the first time this season after their opening match vs Chelsea that United have scored more than once at the Old Trafford. Apart from their last week, United have been on a decent run off late picking up victories in all competitions. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will hope that the team can continue this form.
