Nemanja Matic on Jose Mourinho: The Serbian midfielder spoke about the Manchester United manager in an interview with Sky Sports.
Manchester United have been in good form at the moment. After a shaky start, the side has found some stability with two back-to-back league wins over Everton and Bournemouth.
Jose Mourinho’s men put up an inspiring performance against Chelsea, where they held the Blues to a 2-2 draw.
Manchester United will now face Juventus at Turin, as they return to Champions League this week. In their previous game at Old Trafford, Paolo Dybala’s goal early in the first half was enough to secure three points for the Italian side.
Nemanja Matic, who has played under Mourinho at Chelsea and Manchester United, has now spoken about his experience with the Portuguese manager.
Nemanja Matic on Jose Mourinho:
The Serbian midfielder has stated that Mourinho is a winner, and there is always a lot of pressure on him.
“He does have a lot of pressure though because everyone expects him only to win,” Matic said. “When we don’t win everyone is waiting to see his reaction.”
Jose Mourinho talks openly about how he’s trying to change to an attacking strategy whilst finding the right balance. He wants to change and if you don’t want him to succeed after watching this then I don’t really know what to say. #mufc [Standard] pic.twitter.com/BeThbbfqaE

The midfielder has also revealed that the squad tends to hide from him in the training session after they lose a game.
“He likes to win and when we don’t win we are hiding from him at the training ground.
Mourinho: “We need obviously to score more goals. We were punished against Chelsea because we didn’t score the third goal and we could. We went to the 96th minute against Everton with a corner because we didn’t score the third, the fourth, the fifth before that.” #mufc [Standard]

“He’s happy when he’s winning but when we lose, like every manager, he wants us to do better. He tries to find a way to be winning as soon as possible.”
Matic has also insisted that the team is trying to turn around the things at Old Trafford and better days will come.
“It’s not true what the media are writing. We are working hard and we will continue like this.
“The Manchester United name obligates us to be professionals and try to turn the situation as soon as possible and this is exactly what we are doing.”
The fact that Nemanja Matic feels he has to explain his decision not to wear a poppy says a lot. Why should he even have to explain what is a personal choice?
