Barcelona are preparing to make one final push for Matthijs De Ligt.

Barcelona have been linked with a move for Matthijs De Ligt over a long time. The reigning Spanish Champions already announced the signing of Frenkie De Jong in a 75 million deal and are hoping for De Ligt to follow his route in the summer transfer window.

The Blaugrana are set to make a final push for the defender Matthijs De Ligt, according to the reliable ESPNFC. The board is set to hold talks with Matthijs De Ligt and his agent Mino Raiola in the upcoming days. They have been alerted by the interest from Paris Saint Germain, which has forced Barcelona to take a drastic step.

It is understood that the club agreed a deal with the player in March, but the talks have been less intensive over the last few weeks. This is mainly because of the demands from both the player and agent. De Ligt is wanting high wages and Raiola wants a hefty compensation from this deal.

Other clubs including Paris Saint Germain and Manchester United have bettered Barcelona’s wages by offering more. There is no news if Barcelona would be malleable to their demands, but, the outcome will be measured.

Barcelona already agreed a deal with Ajax which tallied up to 80 million three months before. This deal is mirroring Frenkie De Jong’s saga. At one point of time, Barcelona were prepared to lose him to Paris Saint Germain or Manchester City, but the deal got materialized somehow.

President Josep Bartomeu travelled to the Netherlands to sign Frenkie De Jong. But, it is not assertive that the similar would apply to Matthijs De Ligt. The defender has vocalized that he has not made up a decision because he wants to enjoy the vacation.

Liverpool and Juventus are the other two sides to keep an eye on this situation. In fact, De Ligt was told by Cristiano Ronaldo to join Juventus following the UEFA Nations League final on Sunday.

Here’s how Twitter has reacted..

What’s next?

Barcelona will have to shrug off Juventus and Paris Saint Germain to land Matthijs De Ligt.
