Mercedes make hilarious ‘Valtteri, it’s James’ request on Twitter
Valtteri Bottas dished out a vey mediocre campaign in the 2018 season, one where he struggled for luck during the first half and then just couldn’t compete with the title contenders on a weekly basis.
His confidence took a hit after issues during the first half of the season and then Mercedes decided to put the hammer down during the Russian GP, when Bottas was asked to let Hamilton go by, at a time when Bottas was leading the grand prix(having secured pole position).
Bottas seemed on course for his first win of the 2018 campaign, a win that he had drafted out for himself, a win that was snatched away from it, post those words, ‘Valtteri, it’s James’.
The phrase since then has become an ‘Internet meme’, one that is generally followed by something disappointing.
Mercedes’ social media team has been brilliant with their fan engagement all through the season and are not disappointing during the off-season too.
Jumping on the ‘We really need you to stop the..” meme bandwagon, the Mercedes twitter team decided to embrace the ‘Valtteri, it’s James’ phrase too.
