Mercedes receive massive 12HP boost thanks to Petronas
Mercedes go into the 2019 season as huge favourites, as they have been dominant with their car all through the last 5 seasons, and despite a slight dip during the 2018 season, they finished the year on a high, still having the fastest car on track.
Now, with new aerodynamic rules kicking in from 2019 season, Mercedes will need to be on their toes to keep their dominance in the sport.
While the aerodynamic details are yet to come through for all teams, reports of engine developments are already out in the open.
AutoBild has reported that the Mercedes engine has seen a massive 12HP boost in performance, thanks to Petronas, who have helped massively with a new oil and fuel.

Mercedes will now be hoping that the aerodynamic tweaks that will be made to the car can compliment the engine and Mercedes can once again start the season from pole position.
“Autobild found out that the Mercedes engine for 2019 has increased significantly in power (with same consumption like in 2018). At least 12 HP more. Especially Petronas with a new oil and fuel has helped” AutoBild have reported.
