Messi goal vs PSV Eindhoven: The Barcelona star scored a wonder goal to seal Barca’s spot in the round-of-16.
Barcelona have qualified for the round-of-16 with a win against PSV Eindhoven. The Catalan giants defeated PSV 2-1, with Messi and Gerard Pique scoring two quick second-half goals to secure the three points on the night.
Barcelona are currently 2nd in the La Liga. They played a 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid at Wanda Metropolitano last weekend, as Ousmane Dembele scored a late equalizer to salvage a point for the side.
Barca is a point behind Sevilla in the league, who have been the high-fliers in the Spanish top flight so far.
The side will return to the league on Sunday night as they take on Villareal.
Messi goal vs PSV Eindhoven:
Lionel Messi scored an absolutely incredible goal vs the Dutch side in the Champions League. The Argentine star found the net from an almost impossible angle, which stunned the fans.
Messi broke the deadlock in the 61st minute after Barcelona began to dominate possession in the second half.
The footballer carved out space with a one-two combination as a lapse in defence from PSV players gave Messi an opening to stride forward into the defence. The Barca forward somehow made space inside the box to shoot, and the ball found the top of the net.
