Messi injury against Sevilla: The Argentine star was down with injury in the 26th minute of the game and was forced off the pitch.
15 minutes into the Barcelona game versus Sevilla, it looked like the Catalans would cruise to a win, courtesy of a second minute goal by Phillippe Coutinho and another on the 12th minute by Lionel Messi. Barcelona were 2-0 up until Lionel Messi went down very awkwardly onto his right arm.
The Barcelona captain set up Coutinho before adding his seventh La Liga Santander goal of the campaign before the injury which looked something like a hyper extension, fracture or a dislocation. Barcelona’s medical team put in massive efforts to ensure that Lionel Messi can carry on till the end, but it was not to be.
The Argentinian winger had then, unfortunately been ruled out of the remainder of the match in place of Ousmane Dembele. As Messi went into the dressing room with a plastered arm, the Camp Nou chanted his name but was visibly left distraught over the injury that looked really nasty.

We will now have to wait to see how things pan out as Messi will certainly undergo tests on Sunday in order to understand the extent of his injury.
Sadly 15 minutes of Messi is all we’re going to get. Looks like he’s seriously damaged his arm…may be broken.

But Barcelona and Ernesto Valverde in particular will be hoping that Messi’s substitution was only a precautionary measure ahead of a week that sees Barcelona come up against Inter Milan and Real Madrid.
I honestly think that those who decide on who wins the Ballon d’Or etc don’t watch La Liga, otherwise how could anyone else win but Messi. A superb assist and an even better goal in the first 15 minutes.

By the end of half-time, Barcelona were 2-0 up against Sevilla. Messi assisted the first goal of the match for Coutinho, and proceeded on to score the second goal before being forced off due to injury.
It is yet unknown whether he will be able to play the games against Inter Milan and Real Madrid, but it is reported that there has been a torsion in the arm and suspected distortion following the fall. In such a case, Messi might be doubtful for both the fixtures.
