MI vs KXIP Match Prediction

MI vs KXIP Match Prediction: The Sportsrush presents before you the Match Prediction of 24th match of IPL 2019.

The 24th match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League will be played between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab at Mumbai. The intriguing contest will decide which out of the two teams end up registering three consecutive victories in IPL 2019.

Out of Punjab’s three away matches, they have tasted victory only once. Despite the number being a concern for them, they would be backing their chances against Mumbai whom they defeat a few days ago back home. Mumbai losing and winning a match each on their home ground will come as a boost for the visitors.

MI vs KXIP – What numbers suggest?

In the 23 matches which Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab have played against each other, both the teams are neck and neck as the margin of victory is differentiated by just one extra win. While Mumbai have won 12 matches, Punjab have won one less in 11.

Out of the eight matches which MI and KXIP have played at the Wankhede Stadium, both the teams have won four matches each. A stat which Punjab can boast about is their average score of 166 against Mumbai as compared to their average score of 160 against Punjab.

MI vs KXIP – Paper value

The highlight for Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2019 so far has been their hunger to yield affirmative results. Despite not enticing as many eyeballs as some of the other IPL franchises, Punjab are currently at No. 3 in the points table with four wins in six matches. Banking on their strengths, Punjab have it in them to force a victory at Wankhede.

On the other hand, Mumbai Indians would be hoping for their soi-disant star batsmen to stand tall on the expectations. With 133 runs in five matches at an average of 26.60 and a strike rate of 133, Quinton de Kock is their highest run-scorer in IPL 2019. Overall, the southpaw is at No. 21 among batsmen this season.

For a team to not have even one batsman in the Top 20, it speaks highly about their inconsistency. The opposition in Kings XI would be hoping to cash in on the same tomorrow in an encounter which they look favourable to win on the back of past numbers and current form.
