Miguel Almiron to Arsenal: The President of Atlanta United has told Arsenal to triple the offer for Miguel Almiron.
Arsenal are in red-hot form at the moment. Unai Emery’s side is enjoying a great run in form as the team is currently on a 9-match winning streak across all competitions. Unai Emery’s side is fourth in the Premier League, level on points with city rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Arsenal also cruised to the next round of the Carabao Cup, after defeating the lower-league side Brentford. Unai Emery’s side then defeated the high-flying Watford and Fulham last weekend.
In their Europa League match against Qarabag, Arsenal comfortably extended their winning run to eight games in all competitions. Arsenal beat Qarabag 3-0, with goals from Sokratis, Emile Smith-Rowe and Mateo Guendouzi secured another three points for the Gunners.
Apart from their on-field performances, Arsenal is also taking positive steps in their off-the-field activities in the transfer market. The Gunners are reportedly interested in signing Ever Banega to replace Aaron Ramsey, but gain a major boost for the winter transfer window in case of Miguel Almiron.
However, reports now emerge that Atlanta United’s president wants triple the amount.
Miguel Almiron to Arsenal:
The Atlanta United attacking midfielder has scored 12 goals and assisted 13 in 33 matches in the current season for the MLS side. According to FOX USA, Arsenal had set its eye on the player, and a bid in the region of €11m was in place for the player.
I remember watching Miguel Almiron live in Atlanta and being shocked by just how fast he is. @kev_egan preached about him all year. What a player. Could start for so many top European teams.

However, reports now emerge that the hierarchy of Atlanta United wants triple the amount for the player.
Really interesting to hear Miguel Almirón is set to sign for @Arsenal in January for £11M. Seem to recall the club were linked with him even back when he was tearing it up for Lanús – thoroughly deserves his move to Europe pic.twitter.com/TdKlso6VBZ

“So there were two clues as to why that was total nonsense: One was Eagles, not Eales,” said Darren Eagles, the Atlanta President, quoting the earlier report.
Miguel Almirón has lit up the MLS with his performances for Atlanta Utd over the last 18 months. £11m would be a steal and a possible upgrade on Aaron Ramsey for #AFC

“And the other was the suggestion of £11 million because it would have to take at least triple that for me to even get out of bed and think about any bids for Almiron.
His progression with the ball reminds me a bit of Kaka in his early days, players who look faster in possession. Almiron might not have the elegance that Kaka had, but the pace down the middle is exhilarating to watch.

What next?
Arsenal is in the market for the replacement of Aaron Ramsey, and Almiron was pinned to be an able buy for the Gunners. However, the statement from Atlanta’s president is bound to increase worries among the Arsenal camp.
