Millie Bobbie Brown deletes TikTok account

Millie Bobbie Brown deletes TikTok account: Here’s a look at the reason that led the Stranger Things star to delete her TikTok account out of the blue.

It seems the whole “Is social media & the Internet a good or bad influence on young minds” debate is about to gather pace anew. There have been many takes on the issue over the years. However, one major con that everyone seems to point out is the hate chamber that social media platforms are prone to become. The toxicity was on display once again and was felt by Millie Bobbie Brown this time. The Stranger Things star had to delete her TikTok account with over 16 mil+ followers as a result.

When Millie Bobbie Brown deleted her Twitter account?

To understand the exact reason behind this, we need to go back a few years. The story begins back in late 2017, early 2018 when a fake Twitter account uploaded some fabricated new about Brown.

In it, a Muslim woman claimed that Brown was anti-Islam and not only tore off her Hijab but also stamped on it at an airport. On being asked for proof the user showed a badly photoshopped image which made it clear that he/she was trolling. However, the tweet sparked off a whole trend. This toxic trend involved people uploading fake, troll tales of Brown exhibiting homophobic behaviour in public. What’s more, almost everyone knew it was fake, so the thing became a viral troll.

However, the impact of such dark humour on a 14-year-old can be quite negative. That seems to have been the case for Millie Bobbie Brown as well as she deleted her Twitter account in the aftermath.

Why did Millie Bobbie Brown delete her TikTok account?

Fast forward 2 years and it’s deja vu time. Millie Bobbie Brown has deleted her TikTok account this time. However, there are newer, more innovative instances of toilet humour in stock on this occasion.

As the Instagram Post on Millie’s story proves, the reasons definitely have to do with toxicity again. TikTok users had been trolling Brown for using an Android phone for quite some time now. That’s right! Some very witty people thought it’d be cool to make fun of people for what phone they use! Brown, of course, has a brand deal with Samsung Galaxy. So, she has her own reasons for using whatever handset she chooses. But, the Internet doesn’t care!

Moreover, the good ol’ homophobia jokes resurfaced once again with their terrible memories of 2018. Therefore, fans are pretty sure that it is all this unnecessary bullying that led Brown to delete her TikTok account. The incident is yet another reminder to us of the dark side of fame & all the troubles it brings.
