Mitchell Marsh IPL 2020: Watch SRH all-rounder's quickfire half-century propels Scorchers to 213/3 vs Heat

SRH all-rounder’s quickfire half-century: Scorchers’ captain led from the front with the bat in hand against Heat at the Perth Stadium.

During the 33rd match of the ongoing ninth season of the Big Bash League between Perth Scorchers and Brisbane Heat in Perth, Perth Scorchers captain Mitchell Marsh scored his ninth T20 half-century to propel his team to 213/4 in their allotted quota of 20 overs.

Coming in to bat at No. 4 in the seventh over, Marsh stitched an unbeaten 124-run partnership for the fourth wicket alongside Cameron Bancroft (41*). With the hosts losing their opening batsmen by the 11th over, it was crucial for Marsh to play a captain’s knock to post a formidable total.

Showing attacking instincts from the word go, Marsh ended up scoring 93* (41) with the help of three fours and eight sixes to leave the opposition bowlers clueless. After getting his eye in, the 28-year old player scored as many as five sixes in the last two overs.

Having scored 307 runs in eight matches at an average of 51.16 and a strike rate of 156.63 including two half-centuries, Marsh is currently the third-highest run-scorer in the tournament.

It is worth mentioning that Marsh was bought by Indian Premier League franchise SunRisers Hyderabad for his base price of INR 2 crore in the recently concluded auction for IPL 2020.
