Mohamed Salah and Raheem Sterling are worth more than Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo right now after incredible showing by Liverpool and Man City last season.

Manchester City and Liverpool both had fantastic seasons and were arguably the two best teams in Europe last season. City dominated all of England’s domestic competition by winning all trophies available to them. Liverpool were at their heels in the Premier League, coming second with only one point separating them. However, in the Champions League, they were second to none.

The fall out of this phenomenal season has seen two of their stars overtake some of the biggest names in the football world when it comes to how valuable they are. Mohamed Salah and Raheem Sterling were at the heart of their teams success last season and as a result have now become worth more then both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi according to Football Observatory CIES.

The list is headed by French sensation Kylian Mbappe, who is followed by Mohamed Salah, Raheem Sterling and then Lionel Messi. While Cristiano Ronaldo is surprisingly at no.20.

Sterling and Salah have both had a great start to the new season. Sterling scored the only City goal in the community shield and followed it up with a hat-trick against West Ham. Salah on the other hand scored Liverpool’s first Premier League goal of the season. He also narrowly scored the winner in the Community Shield match but was denied by Kyle Walker’s heroics.

Both City and Liverpool will hope that this two will have continued success in the days to come and help them rack up more trophies.
