MS Dhoni enjoying his off period

It has been quite a prolonged summer for MS Dhoni, who is enjoying his time off the field while the Indian team battle England out in the 5-match Test series. Before that, the veteran wicket-keeper represented India in the T20Is and ODI series against England, but his poor performances led to him being criticized severely. The 37-year-old was unable to find his form with the bat, and could not prevent India from the ODI series loss.

The Jharkand-born star was also booed by the viewers at the Mecca of Cricket known as the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. Dhoni adopted an indifferent style of batting when the team needed someone to up the ante. Nevertheless, the skipper Virat Kohli extended his support to his former captain after his poor outing in England.

Meanwhile India and England are now fighting it out in the Test series, where the hosts are leading by 2-1. The Men in Blue will now play at The Rose Bowl and Kennington Oval to complete the two and a half month tour of the UK.

Following the Test matches in England, India is scheduled to participate in the six-nation Asia Cup to be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in September. The 37-year-old Dhoni will return to action and will be looking forward to shut his critics once and for all.

India’s opening game in the tournament will be against the Qualifier team in Dubai on the 18th of September. A day later, the Men in Blue also face arch-rivals Pakistan, as India look to avenge the Champions Trophy 2017 final loss.

Alongside the Asia Cup, MS Dhoni is tipped to play an integral role in team India’s setup for the next ODI World Cup to be held next year in England and Wales.

With such a tough schedule in foresight, MS Dhoni has opted to enjoy his remaining time off the field. The 37-year-old is currently enjoying his stay with his family in Shimla, the capital and largest city of Himachal Pradesh.

The vacation can play a crucial psychological role for MS Dhoni, as it could free up his mind of all the criticism before he dons the blue jersey of India for the Asia Cup.

His better half, Sakshi Dhoni, has recently posted some photos and a video to social media, sharing the beautiful scenery of the location.
