MS Dhoni retirement: Dhoni's friend Arun Pandey reckons the veteran has no immediate plans to retire from International Cricket

MS Dhoni retirement: Dhoni’s long time friend Arun Pandey reckons that the former India captain has no retirement plans anytime soon

Ever since India’s semi-final exit from the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup, the discussions, debates, speculations, conjectures and everything associated even with his post retirement plans have become one of the burning issues across the Indian Cricket fraternity.

The recent reports suggested that the 38-year-old  has made himself unavailable for the tour of West Indies, where the Indian team will take part on three T20Is and three ODIs. Also, he is expected to be a part of the transition phase which will see a new player take up his role.

Moreover, even MS Dhoni’s parents want their beloved son to hang up his boots, as they feel that the media is not able to handle the ‘big property’ anymore.

Now, Dhoni’s childhood long-time friend and business partner has spilled beans on his friend’s decision to retire from the game.

Arun Pandey reckons Dhoni has no immediate plans to retire

Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s long-time friend and business partner Arun Pandey on Friday said that the former India captain has no immediate plans to retire despite the intense speculation surrounding his future, PTI reported.

“He has no immediate plans to retire. The constant speculation over the future of a great player like him is unfortunate,” Pandey said.

Pandey’s comments came ahead of the Indian Team’s selection for West Indies tour set to take place and be announced on July 21 (Sunday) after the same was postponed due to awaited fitness reports of players.

Pandey has been associated with Dhoni for a long time and also handles Rhiti Sports, a sports management company. With the selectors looking at the future following the World Cup, the 38-year-old may not be an automatic pick in the team.
