Iconic Indian cricketer, MS Dhoni is known to have a witty line or two up his sleeve. And the former Indian captain was on song last night, when he along with the rest of the Indian team attended a charity gala arranged by Virat Kohli in London. Several players were asked some fun questions regarding their team mates or in some cases about opposition players. The audience were particularly interested in what the former Indian captain had to say, as MS Dhoni reveals the fastest bowler that he has ever faced.
The Indian team were in very good spirits as they have just come off a convincing display against arch rivals Pakistan in their opening Champions Trophy match. The defending champions put up a huge score as the likes of Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma gave a superb platform for the team. Man of the match, Yuvraj Singh played a gem of an innings, providing brilliant support to captain Kohli, as the Indian batsmen trashed the Pakistan attack all over the ground.
The Indian bowlers then completed the job, as Pakistan barely offered any resistance in their reply. No wonder, the Indian team were seen laughing and joking through out the charity gala.
Dhoni was first asked about his thoughts on the D/L system. This is what Dhoni had to say,
“I don’t think even ICC understands the D/L method and how it works,” said Dhoni talking about the rule for calculation of scores in rain affected matches.
When asked about who the fastest bowler that he has ever faced, Dhoni said that he would have to go with the Rawalpindi Express.
“If I have to name one quick bowler who was tough to play against in my career, simple and easy answer would be Shoaib Akhtar.”
The team looks to be in good form and initial reports of dressing room unrest seem to be forgotten. Let’s see how far team India will go in this year’s Champions Trophy.
