Ever since MS Dhoni has given up Test cricket, he has constantly made it a point to help the younger generation ease themselves into the treacherous world of International cricket. To help Virat Kohli ease into reaching the helm of Indian Cricket, MS Dhoni stepped down oh so very quietly. To help the Jharkhand cricketers deal with the nuances of playing domestic cricket, he decided to mentor the young side during the Ranji season.

And now with Cricket trying to break boundaries and trying to make itself accessible to countries all around the world, MS Dhoni is all set to take up the mantle of mentoring the Singapore Cricket Association. In their bid to make it to the top cricket playing nations in the world, Singapore couldn’t have asked for a better guiding force.

Recently a news broke out about MS Dhoni collaborating with a residential cricket coaching school in Barasat, West Bengal as a batting mentor and as per the latest reports from oneindia.com, the hard hitting batsman could be seen taking up a similar role with Singapore Cricket Association (SCA).

Subhomay Das, the founder of the cricket coaching school in Barasat was the one who roped in MS Dhoni and he is confident that Dhoni would follow him to Singapore as well. Das is the man who has set up the cricket academy in association with SCA.

“Working in Singapore and developing their cricket academy to produce quality cricketer in near future is always exciting for me. So, I have agreed with the SCA terms and conditions and would like to join them only after our own project in Barasat starts.” Das said.

“I also have conveyed the SCA request to Dhoni. He has already given consent to be the mentor of our Barasat Cricket Academy. I am optimistic that he will also give consent to be associated with SCA. According to SCA terms and conditions, we will have to be there in the academy for at least once a month”

Das said that Dhoni hasn’t given a go ahead for the Singapore Cricket Association, he is very sure that Dhoni wouldn’t miss out on the opportunity of working with young kids i a country that is yet to make a mark for themselves in International Cricket.

“Though Dhoni has not yet given consent for SCA, he is a master class for his specific and measured advice for the SCA when he heard that SCA will be launched with all U14 and U17 boys. Dhoni has said junior boys cannot be neglected. They should be provided best infrastructure and perfect teaching. Otherwise, they will not be developed at all,” conceded Das.
