Mushfiqur Rahim misses run-out vs New Zealand: Watch Bangladeshi keeper's blunder saves Kane Williamson

Mushfiqur Rahim misses run-out vs New Zealand: Bangladeshi wicket-keeper missed a straight run-out chance vs New Zealand.

During the ninth match of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 between Bangladesh and New Zealand at The Oval, Bangladesh wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim missed a straight run-out chance to send back New Zealand captain Kane Williamson.

It all happened on the second ball of the 12th over when Williamson responded late to Ross Taylor’s call for a single after the latter hit a Shakib Al Hasan delivery to mid-on. What further didn’t work in Williamson’s favour was a brilliant throw at this end.

With Williamson nowhere in the frame, all Rahim had to do was collect the ball and dislodge the bails. While Rahim did all of that, he did it after dislodging the bails with his arms.

After square leg umpire referred the decision to the third umpire, replays confirmed Rahim committing a howler to give another chance to the rival skipper. The same was followed by Rahim getting scolded by Bangladesh opening batsman Tamim Iqbal.

While the same happened with New Zealand at 61/2, they are currently 158/2 in 30 overs in a 245-run chase.

After Williamson won the toss and put Bangladesh in to bat, they got bundled out for 244 in 49.2 overs. All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who came in to bat at No. 3 in the ninth over, top-scored for Bangladesh scoring 64 (68) with the help of seven fours. With bowling figures of 9.2-0-47-4, Matt Hardy for the highest wicket-taker for New Zealand.
