MWJ Vs ON Dream 11 Prediction: Manawatu Jets Vs Otago Nuggets. Newcomers Otago Nuggets look to began the new season of the league in ample.

Plying their skill set for the first time in the National Basketball League, when Otago Nuggets step out to the court today, the side will be looking to leave a mark. Although this is their first ever encounter in the marquee league, the side has managed to assemble together a string of worldclass players, coaxing names who have given birth to a well endowed and complete unit.

And the side couldn’t have asked for a more pristine tie to acclimatise itself with the league and their surroundings than the opener awaiting them today. In Manawatu Jets, they are coming across last year’s bottom placed side, a team so shambolic that it managed to muster up a frugal two wins in its kitty.

The 2019 edition of the league was a tedium affair for Manawatu with the side being persisntely toyed around with and ripped into shreds. The team finished the league with five defeats in a row, results which were a testament to how horrendous a brand of football they have been embroiled in all across the course of the season.

Probable Winner

A new season beckons a fresh start for Manawatu with the side looking to put past it last year’s travesties. And up against a side who is playing for the first time ever, Manawatu will be quietly confident of showing fight and character as they look to start life afresh in the NBL.

However, last year’s performances were way too despondent with us envisioning the side being putdown by Otago in their league opener today.

Dream 11 Picks

Point Guard

Fair distribution for us in this slot of our Dream 11 side with us roping in the one player apiece from either side. We begin with Haize Walker from Manawatu Jets, a name who waged a lone battle for the side in the foregone edition with his crossovers and off hand shots seeing him come up with some pivotal performances.

The newcomers on the other hand will be represented by Benoit Hayman, a player capable of making his paint an undisputed territory owing to his ability to clobber sides in their ambitions to pull off attacking plays past him.

Shooting Guard

When Otago Nuggets were crafting their team of this season, one player the side was extremely interested in was Jarrod Kenny. And it was rightfully so as well with the shooting guard being someone capable of cajoling his way a high shooting rate from the deep, a name set to herald his way a string of triples.

Small Forward

He’s going to be partnered alongside Jordan Ngatai, a player who is being touted to emerge as his side’s most exceptional player this season. The sensational small forward is someone capable of running the show with his ball handling capabilities, ones which allow him to control the centre of the court with his quick ball rotations and layups.

From Manawatu on the other hand, we have their fulcrum represent us. All across the last season, Hyrum Harris managed to stall tall amongst his counterparts, a player whose sprawling skill set saw him wage a lone battle for the side and effortlessly send down triples.

Power Forward

Up against an attacking slot which was blown apart and halted with ease the last time around, Akiva McBirney-Griffin is set to roll n a hoard of deflections, rebounds and blocks to see him be our power forward for the contest.

Centre

Both our picks are from Manawatu in this docket with us venturing in with a dual toned, enterprising partnership. Our picks constitute of the enigmatic Tom Vodanovic and Josian Laracy, names who have converged under their pant tog guard opponents with consummate ease and pull off crucial steals.

Star Player

His performances last year and ability to register double-doubles will see us make Harris our side’s star player while Ngatai is the vice-captain.
