Napoli 2-0 Liverpool: 3 Talking Points as Carlo Ancelotti’s side claim controversial victory | Champions League 2019/20
#3 Liverpool’s plan was alright, but there was a lack of execution

Liverpool had a good enough squad to compete against this strong Napoli side. The Reds were on the verge of taking the lead through Mohamed Salah, but refereeing decisions didn’t go in their way in the second half.
Jurgen Klopp’s analysis was perfect, but the players failed to execute this to perfection. Fabinho, Virgil Van Dijk, Adrian, and Mohamed Salah had good games, while the likes of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, and Andy Robertson struggled to match up with the pace of their opponents. They were also caught on the balls because of the lack of decision making.
They had a glaring chance through Roberto Firmino in the first-half stoppage time. The Brazilian failed to hit the target from corner, while Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino lacked their usual output in the final third. It was no means a bad game for Liverpool, who at least deserved a point.
