Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj suffers fractured sternum after landing on his head in a clash against Torino in the recent Serie A match.
During Napoli’s 0-0 draw against Torino, Elseid Hysaj had to be taken off from the pitch on a stretcher, as the Albanian International suffered a huge blow after landing his head on the ground.
Later diagnosis reveals that Hysaj has fractured his sternum after falling on the ground. The 25-year-old player challenged Cristian Ansaldi for a header which caused to land upside down on the back of his neck.
However, fortunately, Cristian Ansaldi grabbed him and appeared to soften his fall somewhat, yet Hysaj made a bad fall on the ground, as it can be seen that he could be hurt after the fall.
Even after Ansaldi’s attempt to rescue the Napoli star, Hysaj was still stretchered off and X-Rays showed he had suffered a parcellar fracture of the sternum.
Earlier, pictures of the incident set off a panic in Italy but Sky Italia’s early reports suggest that the initial tests done in the dressing room are favourable and a serious injury appears to have been ruled out.
“Everything is under control,” explained Sky.”He suffered a bad blow after a fall and lacked oxygen. They’re examining him in the dressing room, but no specific problem has been identified.”
It is still unknown, when will Hysaj be back for Napoli, as the reports of his injury are yet to be out with confirmed details. The right-back has been a consistent starter in this talented Napoli side for four years now having joined from Empoli in the summer of 2015.
In his first three seasons for Napoli, Hysaj only missed around 7 games in total, and have been a regular at the right side of the defence. The Albanian star is so crucial to Napoli that they even snubbed several lucrative offers to preserve his services.
