“It’s All Good on My End” – Denny Hamlin Holding No Grudges Against Kyle Larson After Minor Incident at Richmond

The ongoing drama between Denny Hamlin and Kyle Larson has been raging on since last Sunday’s race at Pocono. Following the conclusion of the race, Larson was obviously agitated with how Hamlin had raced him up to the wall, costing him not only the win but also a decent points haul.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Hamlin had mentioned that he did nothing wrong and maintained that it was just a racing incident. He even brought up how Larson had done the same sort of move to another driver, Bubba Wallace.

Recently, talking about the matter, Bubba Wallace’s spotter discussed how Larson will come back to exact his revenge on Hamlin sometime in the future. He added how Hamlin had got into Larson on two occasions now and there’s only a finite number of instances after which Larson will have to retaliate to make it stop happening, no matter how close they are off the racetrack.

Bubba Wallace’s spotter believes Kyle Larson will pay Denny Hamlin back

Wallace’s spotter, Freddie Kraft, stated in a recent episode of the Door Bumper Clear podcast, “This is inevitably going to come back. Kyle can’t just keep letting this happen. Don’t compare this to Kansas because it’s not the same. Denny you know, at Kansas I think Kyle got the fence with Denny up his a** and then you know they made more contact after that. But that was not the same as this.”

“But in Kyle’s mind, this is two races now that Denny’s ran him very hard and cost him wins. You have to do something about this or it’s gonna keep happening to you. So inevitably when this does come back to him and Kyle does something in return or anybody really did cost Denny a win. He has to react the way he expects everybody else to react.”

“He’s telling you that it’s hard racing for a win you know… I didn’t do nothing wrong, I didn’t wreck these guys. I didn’t touch him. Well, that’s not how they see it. You definitely made contact with the #5, he didn’t make contact with the #48. But when that time comes, you better remember this and react in a similar way that you expect.”

Denny Hamlin says understands Kyle Larson’s frustration

While speaking to Sirius XM NASCAR Radio, Hamlin mentioned how he understood Larson’s frustration after being involved in that tangle with Hamlin. Moreover, he elaborated on how he too has been on the receiving end of such racing antics and that is why he understands why Larson would be upset about Hamlin’s controversial move to win the race.

Hamlin stated, “I get all that, but I also, people need to understand too that like I get it in the sense I don’t expect Kyle Larson to get out and be happy with it, right? There was a winner and there is a loser. And he got the losing end of a racing deal.”

“I understand that I have been in that scenario. I wasn’t happy either. Of course, the emotions flipped from you think you did right, you think you did wrong because of what the result was to you. I guess it’s more complicated than that in a lot of scenarios.”

While Hamlin’s comments make sense up to a point. But when the time comes, what will Hamlin do when Larson chooses to retaliate to get his shot at winning over Hamlin? Will the JGR driver understand why Larson would do such a thing?

That is what is left to be seen as we go ahead with the Cup Series schedule.
