“I grew up with NASCAR” – NBA legend Michael Jordan reveals excitement of owning the 23XI Racing team
“I grew up with NASCAR” – NBA legend Michael Jordan co-owns the 23XI Racing team with NASCAR star Denny Hamlin, with Bubba Wallace as their star driver.
Michael Jordan has set his sights on becoming a legend in a different sport after basketball – NASCAR. But this is not as an athlete, but as the co-owner of the 23XI Racing team. He discussed his love for NASCAR, giving hints as to what let him buy the team alongside NASCAR legend Danny Hamlin.
“I grew up with NASCAR. My father used to pack the whole family in, we’d go to Darlington, Rockingham, Charlotte, Daytona, and Talladega. We would spend the whole day, and from that point on, I’ve been hooked.”
Man it’s so cool that Michael Jordan is involved with NASCAR and to have Bubba Wallace as his driver is awesome. I truly hope they have a great year. #Daytona500

Michael Jordan has Bubba Wallace as their star driver
Jordan has the legendary Bubba Wallace in his team’s ranks, a regular in Daytona 500. He expressed disappointment with his latest outing, especially the pile-up during the race. There are a few more races to go though, where the veteran can re-prove his mettle.
The 23XI Racing team is one of the most talked-about teams in the 2021 Cup Series season. The NASCAR and basketball faithful have a very exciting team to look forward to this season, a la Aston Martin in Formula 1. Wallace sounds excited about this and is motivated to deliver big for his team.
“On the racetrack for sure. It’s just delivering results. This, for me, is the one and potentially last opportunity for me. We have a solid foundation underneath us to make this program better and to grow this team. Make this a household name in the sport. Male it a pinnacle name of our sport.”
