Pattern for Kyle Busch’s Third NASCAR Title Emerges After Hometown Team Makes History

For most of the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series Season, there was an air of uncertainty not only in the Joe Gibbs Racing family but also, more tangibly, in the Busch family. Kyle Busch’s future was thrown into jeopardy after M&M’s announced that it will not take up sponsorship duties from the end of the 2022 season. Inevitably, this led to a period where the unthinkable ran through the mind of everyone associated with NASCAR – Will Kyle Busch return to NASCAR in 2023?

And no one was more relieved when Richard Childress Racing came forward to sign Kyle Busch than Rowdy’s biggest supporter, his wife Samantha, who stood with him through every challenge imaginable.

The pair’s confidence and self-belief have been vindicated with the No.8 with three wins already in the new season.

Samantha Busch Expresses Relief After Impressive Start to New Chapter

Samantha Busch took to Instagram to share her joy after an impressive outing by husband at the World Wide Technology Raceway in Illinois over the last weekend. Busch took the pole and the win for his third victory of the season, already notching up more victories in his first season at Richard Childress’ team than RCR legends Dale Earnhardt and Kevin Harvick.

In her story, Samantha said, “Obviously you all know that it was a big transition. It’s a first year with a new team after being with another team for so long, so just to see Kyle have this success early and just mesh so well with the organization and his guys it’s just incredible to see.

Kyle Busch More Than Embracing the New Challenge at RCR

After 15 successful years with Joe Gibbs Racing, it was always going to be a question of whether Kyle Busch could adjust to a new team, a new setup, and more importantly, a new culture. When the younger Busch left Hendrick Motorsports in 2007, he had the urge to prove himself at the top level of NASCAR.

While his years at JGR have more than cemented his legacy in the top tier of NASCAR, Busch unsurprisingly brought the same level of urgency to win at RCR even when he started his 19th season in the Cup Series.

The win at Fontana early in the season meant that Busch had a Cup Series win for the 19th consecutive season, a record he broke after being tied at 18 with Richard Petty. The wins at Talladega and Illinois just confirmed what we all know – that after all the years, all the victories on the track, and all the accolades off it, Kyle Busch is still here, not to compete, but to win.
