Alperen Sengun Records Rare Stat Line to Join Magic Johnson and Lonzo Ball as 4th Ever to Achieve Historic Feat

The Houston Rockets are the worst-performing team in the association so far. The Texas-based franchise has won merely 11 games and just recently came off a 13-game losing streak. While there is not a lot going in their favour, the emergence of Alperen Sengun is one of the only positive takeaways from the Rockets’ horrific campaign.

The Turkish has been having a pretty terrific season so far. The starting center for Stephen Silas, the 20-year-old has been stuffing the stat sheet lately.

Despite playing without Kevin Porter Jr., Houston played pretty well. Silas’ boys even led the contest by as much as 19 points, however, failed to grab the win. Behind Kyle Kuzma’s 33-point, 9-rebound night, the Wizards won the clash 108-103.

Alperen went on to record the 2nd triple-double of his career. In 36:43 minutes, Sengun put up 21 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks on 62.5% shooting from the field.

Not only did Alperen become the first-ever center ever to record multiple triple-doubles before turning 21, but he also became the 4th player ever to achieve a historic feat.

Joining Magic Johnson, Lonzo Ball, and Antonie Walker, the 6-foot-9 undersized big man became the 4th player in NBA history to record a triple-double with multiple steals and blocks before turning 21.

Yes, the Rockets are a disappointing team. However, thanks to Jalen Green and Alperen, watching this young team is pretty entertaining.

Alperen has been putting up a staggering 15.5 points, 9 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1 block per game. However, over the last 5 outings, the European has elevated his game, averaging 23.6/12.2/7.2 on 70% shooting from the field.
