“Andre Iguodala news was not broken by Shams Charania”: Warriors legend trolls Athletic insider regarding his latest scoop
Andre Iguodala is coming home! Shams Charania broke the news, well, not literally, according to Iggy himself.
The 2015 Golden State Warriors team was a force to be reckoned with. After all, they hold the record for amassing the most wins in an NBA regular season. While Steph Curry and Klay Thompson were the stars of that 73-9 win team, the contributions of Andre Iguodala cannot be overlooked.
Iggy proved his worth to the world in the 2015 NBA Finals. He put on a show and bagged the NBA Finals MVP trophy over his teammates. However, after winning three titles in four years, Iggy started a new chapter in his career with the Miami Heat.
Fast forward to today, Iggy is returning to GSW, and it is a day of celebration for the organization. Most believe he will have a great locker room presence. Moreover, the postseason experience that he brings to the table is a plus point.
Andre Iguodala embarrasses Shams Charania
Shams Charania is known for his accurate tips about what’s happening around the NBA world. Furthermore, Shams is usually spot on with his sources. But today, Charania was a bit late to reporting Iggy’s return to the Golden State Warriors. Charania tweeted:
“Andre Iguodala — a three-time Warriors champion and 2015 Finals MVP — agreed to sign a deal to return to Golden State. The Brooklyn Nets were also a finalist.”

While the news is 100% correct, it felt like Shams deliberately didn’t mention the name of the original source. In this case, NY Times were the first to report this move and Iguodala took it upon himself to make it clear. Iggy replied to Shams’ tweet saying:
“Jpdabrams and nytimes was the source pro.”

The move by Iguodala led to Shams being on the receiving end of a lot of backlash from basketball fans.
