Losing game-1 against the Suns has seemingly woken up a monster in Anthony Davis. Ever since his abysmal showing in the series opener, the player has been going berserk and playing with an aggressiveness that had been missing for a long time.
The Brow has even played well enough to let LeBron James be more passive during games. And given that he is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon, things aren’t looking good for not only the Suns, but anyone the franchise will face in the Western Conference.
After observing him intently throughout this series, many have an array of positives opinions on the player. And while Colin Cowherd falls in this sector of the NBA community as well, his perspective is just a tad bit more controversial than anyone else’s.

Colin Cowherd explains why Anthony Davis is more impactful for the Lakers than LeBron James
Much like many of his colleagues, Colin Cowherd has made a career out of making hot takes. However, he is not as… extravagant as Skip Bayless, which many in the NBA community greatly appreciate.
Much like Bayless though, the 57-year-old has his one show, called ‘The Herd’, where he talks sports on television. And on the show’s most recent episode, he had something to say about the Lakers’ dynamic duo. Take a listen.
“When Anthony Davis is locked in, you’re looking at a big who can do everything… LeBron is the most valuable player. AD is the most impactful player.”

“When Anthony Davis is locked in, you’re looking at a big who can do everything…LeBron is the most valuable player. AD is the most impactful player.”
Cowherd’s explanation definitely makes sense. LeBron is far more consistent than Anthony Davis. But at 35-years-old and nursing an injury, he can’t be expected to go full throttle for the whole game anymore.
On the other hand, while AD has been inconsistent in the time he has played this season, his highs have been incredible. And if the Lakers really want to win it all this year, they will be relying on a heavy dose of it.
