"Anthony Davis trolled Rajon Rondo": Lakers star reveals how he, coach Frank Vogel and LeBron James designed a ploy to get the better of their former teammate

Los Angeles Lakers’ big man Anthony Davis reveals how the entire Lakers squad came together to troll Rajon Rondo

The Los Angeles Lakers completed their 7 game road-trip last night, finishing it off with a win in Atlanta. The Lakers beat the Hawks 107-99. The Lakers were led by Anthony Davis, who scored 25 points. LeBron James chipped in with 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 9 assists.

The Lakers were facing a familiar face last night. The Hawks have Rajon Rondo in their roster, someone who spent the last two seasons with the Lakers, and won the 2020 title with them. They knew it would be a challenge to face against him, not only because he knows their playbook, but also because of his high basketball IQ.

Anthony Davis shares how the Lakers had a special play, just to trick Rondo

Anthony Davis shared that the Lakers’ Head Coach Frank Vogel and his staff came with a play prepared, just to trick the former Laker. They called a timeout and prepared an out-of-timeout play, designed just to get Rajon Rondo, and get a foul out of it.

The play worked perfectly for the Lakers, as they got Rondo, despite Anthony Davis yelling and telling Rondo he hadn’t seen this play before, from the bench. It ended with both the parties sharing a laugh.

Even though Rondo is no longer with the Lakers, it is evident that there is no bad blood between the two parties. The Lakers now head home and prepare to play the Nuggets on the 4th.
